Might be going to look at a 1.8 SRi Corsa C tomorrow night.
05 plate, 65k miles, full service history, couple of irmscher bits. Other than that just a standard SRi.
It's got MOT till March '12, doesn't say anything about tax but I could sort that out in the price.
So what are common faults on these? And what are peoples tips for when i go look at it? What would you value it at as well?
Thanks!

engines are bullet proof, just make sure its had a cambelt change.
also broken springs on the rear are common problems but if your going to lower it shouldnt really matter.

Steering racks and gear linkages wearing out is common on all c's I believe. Linkage on mine was knackered anyway so I knocked £50 off the asking price, only cost me £15 to fix

Cheers for the replies lads! Heard about the steering racks and linkages so i'll give them a good check. What would you say you'd pay for the car?

As said gear linkages, knocking from front which will either be steering rack ends (track rods) or the lower arm wishbone rear bushes split all the time too, rear broken springs, wipers not being as fast as they should be meaning dodgy motor, indicators going funny is always flasher relay, also on the 1.8 SRis the rear calipers the handbrake part can stop working causing only 1 wheel to work/lock when applying the handbrake
also not a thing to not buy a car for as it gets done for free but the C's were recalled for a cover putting over ABS pump in the engine bay because they were catching fire lol still worth a check, hope this helps

bear in mind they have just changed the insurance groupings now so its probably a group 9-12 in old money

When I bought my 1.4 Sri I looked at a 1.8 but insurance was daft. £400 for my 1.4 or £900 for a 1.8!!!

On my sisters C the cv joint kept going, numerous times. For that reason, she got rid
