has any1 made a sump gaurd for a corsa b in the past, i have got a big sheet of ally to make it from , its for my rally car, any1 got any plans or anything like that ??

i had a 5mm plate wleded to the bottom of my sump. it was about 20mm off the deck so took a few slaps in its time and still going

yer i saw them ones for 185 , and thought fuk that lol , ave got a sheet of ally , al make 1 .
a think over the weekend al get it up on me ramps and have a look where to make some brackets for it.

iv one on my c20xe corsa goes from the front x meber right hte way back to the joinin gof manifold and cat was made out of 5mm check plate can ge tpic if thats any help for you?

A lot of the people in this thread are on about it for a road car, If your car is low enough to catch the exhaust etc a sump guard will be 20 times worse.
They come under the downpipe so your losing ground clearance, Normally have a couple of mm free space in them too, to allow for engine movement. Plus whereas a hump in the road or something off centre isn't a issue now, it would be with a guard.
Anyway, Best thing to do is just play it by eye and go with what seems to work best, Normally would weld brackets to the cross member and the chassis leg around the lower arm mountings or on the chassis legs there.
Might be worth making a hole for the sump drain nut in it too, Pain in the arse having to remove the guard to do a simple oil change

its for doing stage ralling and autocross ect with, and its needed to get my car an msa logbook , i need to have a sump gaurd, otherwise i cant compete.
i think il just have a go and see where i end up with it,
