What is this? A question or a statement?
Ask yourself; "what do I want from this thread?"

Why do you have an induction kit on it? Pointless and won't be doing any favours. If you want some noise, drill a standard airbox, although I'm not sure what noise you get from a 1L? Like a kitten farting or somethin

Assuming £1.36 per litre, £10 is buying you 7.35litres or 1.62Gallons - so 50miles is a touch over 30mpg.
I know in my 1.2 8v I had to thrash the bollocks off it to get anywhere, in all honesty, it sounds about right

1.2 8v is the slowest engine I've ever driven. Takes ages for it to get to 80

that's why it uses so much fuel; the throttle is either wide open or off, there's no inbetween!!!

12v's manage more than 30 mpg, according to Deano anyway.
Induction kit has probably made the AFM shit itself, put the standard airbox back on and see how it goes from there.
