Insurance will be due for renewal in a month or 2. Im currently a named driver on the father in laws policy on my car, which i earn NCB on. So i was thinking that when its up, ill put it in my name, and put my mother as a named driver, but can i do this without her knowing? Do i have to send proof of her NCB off?
If i do, then ill just put it in my name and put the father in law as a named driver instead.
Cheers

You won't need your mum's NCB as that is for her own policy.

Just make sure you put down everything correctly (any points or accidents) and it'll be fine.

Nope, cos her NCB will be on her own car.

I've had my dad on my policies for a few years now. Never had to send anything off for him.

Good stuff then, neither of us have any points or claims or anything.
So, in theory, it should be cheaper when i put the mother on because i will have 1 NCB and she is female (obviously) which should drop it down a fair bit then...?

The father in laws is wrong at the moment aswell, only by 1 day though.
So, my mum has over 15 years NCB, do i just put down 0 when i add her on my policy then?

does it actually ask how ncb does she have or how many years has she been driving because not one of the quotes i have done comes up with how many ncb does the named driver have, might just be the company your doing it with is different though but yes do just put it as 0
