wanting to buy something off a seller that's obviously over charging on post.
after messaging the seller politely regarding the postage price he/she claims that they have been down to the post office and that's what they have quoted. no chance does it cost this though, their charging more than triple, easy! so im tempted to message them back and say how about i arrange my own courier...
or should i just avoid...?

People clearly do profit on the postage, I've seen the same item from the same seller advertised with free postage and at a cheaper price but with postage on top, adding up to the same amount.
Free postage is never really free anyway, It's just built into the purchase price of the item.

Why do people post this shit over and over again.
You can see how much the postage is before you buy, obviously postage doesn't cost £19.99 when the item you are buying is 1p.
Why see the prices then complain about it?

Its an old ebay trick, i used to do it all the time about 4 or 5 years ago but they clamp down on it now

In the defence of sellers (not in a £19.99vs0.01p sense) people on eBay expect things to come in the post in under 24hrs, wrapped in 30sq ft of bubble wrap in a hand carved wooden postage box and carried in person on horseback all for 24p.
If you don't like the postage, don't buy it. Messaging the seller will achieve nothing more than confirm that eBay is full of fucking retards. No offence.
