When it's just the back box it's fine straight through is bait loud.
But on my 1.4 it was lounder than the xe. The xe has a rasp the 1.4 had a rasp but was loud the whole time.
Mines stainless so mild might be a different story lol

I like the look of the piper one.
Iv got a magnex back box with a cheapy mild steel race tube and its really loud and rasps but i had a remus center silencer on with the magnex and it was just nice so if i put the remus center silencer back on and one of those piper back boxes it should sound ok i think.

could i clean them, if so how? No, they are clear ones, yours are smoked, hence darker.

Just thought id bump this back up with a quick question.
Looking at the piper back box that Kieran has it available in mild steel too and is £46 cheaper than the stainless one.
Is worth paying the extra £46 for the stainless one and would the mild one sound any different to the stainless back box.

I think mild is supposed to be louder and stainless a smoother sound. Comparing my car to my mate's Astra with the same engine, mine is a lot louder but raspy. I've got mild straight through and backbox from GT3 exhausts on eBay, his is stainless straight through and box by Scorpion.
Numberwang!

I cant fault anything on the piper system , Absoutally brilliant quality ! Mines a piper cat back , with no silencers , and a john ashley stainless 4-1 decat mani . Its loud to say the least but sounds great , Deep but raspy at the same time , and it pops everytime i change and let off lol
