The 3S-GTE does 5.2 out of the box. Get it onto somewhere straight n long enough and it should see 160.

After basic mods the 0-60 falls below 5. Very underestimated cars, I love them. My dad has had all 3 diferent versions.

Before this they had 225ps (The 3S-GTE version 1 engine) and square shaped rear lights with honeycombe centre section. Looking at the peformance of a 1994+ model compared to the United States model of the same year (which has a modest 173bhp) we have an extra 68bhp power advantage as standard. In optimum conditions the turbo charger dishes out 6-13psi of boost depending on climate ambient temperatures.

If we compare 0-60 mph with the United States GT Model ( 7.7 seconds ) and the GT Turbo Model ( 5.2 seconds ) we see an impressive 2.5 seconds quicker sprint time. This performance advantage means that the turbo model can quite easily out accelerate most vehicles on the roads of Britain today. A trial speed of 60mph can be achieved in 2nd gear without having to change up.

I thought the Mk1 MR2 had the same engine as the FWD Corolla GTi and the AE-86 RWD Corolla..........128bhp. Weighed very little, about 900kgs or something like that.

All I know is Ive driven a series 3 turbo and they go like shit off a shovel. Toyota are renound for underating the power and performance of their cars. In a Top Gear test recently when the new Corolla 1.8vvti was launched they tested it against the CTR in the wat with propper Datron timing gear. The CTR recorded 7.9 due to the wet and the 1.8 Corolla recorded 8.2 when the book figures from Toyota said 8.5. Testamont to how Toyota underate their cars.
