Standard one was slower than my nova with a C16XE in it.

I was looking at them, apparently you can get 300bhp out of them.

I would have 1 just to say that ive owned 1.

Its a 1.4 8v turbo.Fitting a bleed valve and whacking the boost up wont do it any favours in the reliabilty department.

Really??

That sort of spec Punto GT would probably trounce a C20XE Corsa never mind a 1.6.

I've owned one. Loved it, great little cars, will pull 130 odd easy.

Chris UK had one at The same time but his was modded more than mine and was a fair bit quicker.

To be honest I love the way they look and I'm sure they're fun to drive but I've had too many nightmares with a 1.2 Punto to trust one, I guess it depends if you're lucky with one

He reckons the one he wants to swap is 170bhp what are they standard?? I'm just abit cautious about the fact why he wants to swap that for my 1.4 corsa sport

130standard I think.

Only bits that went wrong on mine were a burst boostpipe and the valve stem seals went just before I got rid, bOth due to running too much boost prob.

I'd love one again as a toy

They are about 130bhp standard. Some had more, some less as they done a few different variants. All had the same engine though.

Not too hard to get them to 170bhp either.

I see the usual nonsense in here

As for a Corsa 1.6 being faster FPMSL you utter twats seriously.

There are 3 varients

GT1 136bhp
GT2 133bhp
GT3 130bhp

The lower bhp ones have slightly more torque and GT2 & 3 have better interiors and exterior trims.

I bought one with 70k on it, I ran it to 100k and it never missed a bit and AK bought it and tuned it up to 170bhp and it was still going well when he sold it on.

He has a vid somewhere of him racing his mate in a Corsa GSi and he completely destroyed it, to put it into perspective a Punto GT is slightly faster than a 106 GTi, so anyone saying their Corsa Sports can keep up are just chatting breeze.

Yh theres a gt1 (icv on rocker) bit more bhp then rest and then gt3 (icv on inlet) you can tell other differences ie doorcards door strips etc but yh mine wasnt very fast and it got p'd on by c20xe with a couple hundred people to prove(at races) but yeah they are alright cars but ant that fast as only are 1.4 but few tweeks get them over 180bhp easy enough and mine was around 180 bhp when finished fetch abit thoe for a good one

I would put that down to the driver tbh.

180bhp GT would kill an XE Nova.

Local lad had 1 with a few goodies like SEB chip, I/C, exhaust etc and it stayed ahead of a TB'd XE Nova.
