my mondeo mk3 2002 has a little problem, when i load the boot up with loads of gear it sits on its arse ive hurd you can get some sort of dampers or something to go on the shocker to stop this happening as much??? or some aftermarket shocks that will not drop as much , once the trailer is on with corsa on and all the gear in the boot its gonna be ridiculously low, has anybody had this trouble before ??

Search for spring assistors.

If they are old springs they increase the chance of snapping the springs though so just a quick/temporary/cheap fix really

Firestone make a product called coilrite. It's an airbag that fits inside your original coilspring and when inflated help with the problem you have described.

PM me with the dimentions of inside your springs and I can find the right one.

Either that or use some Monroe air shocks, they do the same job but more expensive

I personally wouldn't be towing something that's near enough the weight of your car. If you start losing control at all you are fucked.

loads of people tow small cars with big cars, my intentions were to have a 4x4 for towing , but for my work i travel 58 miles a day so cant justify a car thats shit on fuel, the mondeo does 45mpg easy so cant complain.

Slot them inside the coil so the coil cant compress as much

quick and easy but would take them out when your not towing if i was you as wont do your springs much good

Towing weight might be 1400 but that is the weight of the trailer on its own axles.

Nose weight - ie. downward force on the ball - will be closer to 50kg.

in my opinion an older mundanoe is a bit too light to tow a corsa and trailer.

You need stiffer springs in the rear by the sounds of it (and potentially dampers to suit)

Just realised they are a chapman strut on the rear. The product i mentioned wont work.

Adio's is a good shout though.

Surely a Corsa + a man enough trailer to mount a car on, plus the tools etc is more than 1400kg? I used to tow my corsa with a discovery with an 'A' Frame which was very light and tbf i wouldn't have liked to tow it in anything smaller. As Eck said, One mistake and you're buggered.

well the corsas very light and trailers canny light, most of tools and equipment will be going in the mondeo, that will bump the weight of the mondeo up from about 1440 min kerb weight of the mondeo to a good 1680 at least. i would only be doing 60 like , no speeding , a dont think the car will be able to go much faster than that lol
