Was going to suggest Feu Orange (traffic lights) but they are crap now.
I'd recommend getting one of those Ambi Pur ones (refillable) and when it runs out fill it up with your own Aftershave.

i hired a car once, and it has this yellow sandy/grainey type mixture poured into the ashtrays (probably to stop people ashing in them as they should be smoke-free)
but this stuff smelt really nice, and if you needed a nice whiff of it , just open the ashtray cover for a few minutes before closing again.
but i have never come accross this stuff in the shops.
does anyone know what im talking about here?

My mum got a car from a garage years ago, had little smelly Stone things in the ashtray, died off after a while so I use to push the cigarette lighter in, then when it was hot, put a few stones on it and used to give off the scent. Smelt nice and lasted a few hours.

These are AMAZING. Wouldn't use a different one after having these in my car, about £4 from halfords though.
