I just processed my best star trail picture so far.

The silhouette in front is Dunottar Castle in Stonehaven.
The image consists of 109, 30 second exposures. I sat for about an hour in the cold and dark continuously pressing the button on my remote shutter release, but I think its been worth it.

I think a wider lens so you got more of the curvature would improve it.

Also maybe too much castle.

This was shot @ 17mm. The widest I have.

He're a slightly brighter version.

Hmm, didn't think it looked that wide, that should be more than enough.

Must just be the direction you had it pointed.

Think getting the horizon lower would probably improve it. Nice pic though.

Not a bad effort but as said above horizon could do with being lower down so you get more sky in. Also try to get the pole star in too. Can you not set the remote to do it for you? I had another go wed night and can set mine which does it automatically. Took 200 shots in the end. Quite an interesting pic came out really. Got a few planes plus my first iridium flare.

Nah, my remote is just a cheap one I bought off ebay. Was only £2.95.
If I was to hook my camera up to my laptop I could use that as a remote, but my laptop battery is fucked
