Has anyone actually done this to a GSi engine? I'm considering hopping upto a 1.6 instead of the 2.0 due to insurance, cost, etc, but considering future plans for it...
So, anyone got a 1.6 Turbo'd and what kinda bhp, torque and times is it running?

Yeah Courtenay will want about £3500 from you for it. And reliability and driveability can be a problem. You need loads of upgrades inc low compression pistons etc...

I'm not sure. Doesn't blue smoke mean worn piston rings or something? I can't remember now!

stick with a 1.6 and put a sbd 164 throttle body kit on it, much more driveable and reliable, you'll enjoy that a lot more, unless you want to spend £3500 for the ptschhhhhhhhhh sound ?

Get a 2.0 16v, defo. Turbos are great but I still think the 2.0 16v is better. More reliable too IMO.

think you should go for the turbo option. unique for starters and the noise when the turbo spools up is so cool
