Hello all. Ive just bought a C20XE corsa with an apparent "superchipped" ECU. The car runs well sometimes and the power is perfect. But other times you have to take the ecu out and plug it back in because it doesnt drive very well. Basically in 4th and 5th it hardly pulls at all when the foots flat to the floor and then when you let off the accelerator and just roll along at maybe 60mph the car judders every now and again as if you were blipping the throttle. I was planning to get another Coilpack ECU to get rid of the stupid chip thing or can i take it out without damaging the current one? Cheers Scott

Not tried anything on it yet really. Would it be worth trying the paperclip test and see if that comes up with anything or will it not work on a converted car? Cheers Scott

Sounds very similar to how mine went with a dodgy AFM tbh.

Deffo sensor related.
By unplugging the Ecu all your doing is reseting it till it picks up the fault again.
Does it do it at random times??Either hot or cold etc.

Well sometimes you can start it up and when you rev it it will misfire then other times it wont but when its warm and driving in 4th or 5th it always judders as said above and thats driving it sensibly. the EML light is constantly on but the boy i bought it from said it was just because it had a chipped ECU. Cheers Scott

The bloke you bought it off is talking out of his bottom!
Try a paperclip test. I reckon it could be fuel related.
