Got a nice set of 17" momo sport. 205/40/17 ET40

Tried fitting them onto my vauxhall nova which is lowered 60mm but they wont go. Thats even with the arches modified as much as they can go.

I know that most aftermarket wheels only go to ET45 will a set of those fit ? I spoke to the guy in a local wheel shop and he said that I would need to modify the wheel or the car. I can't do either any more than I have. I dont want to order a brand new set of 17's to find they dont fit and they cant go back !

What do the rest of you guys do to fit 17s on your novas ?

Thanks

I would think that 17"s with et 45+ should fit, they deff fit when lowered 40, so they should go on when down 60, but it will b tight!

get technomagnesio indionapolis, they are et49 and go straight on lowered 60mm, tried it on my mates. et 45 should go on with some arch work.

Thanks guys, what is worrying me is that the ET40 that I have tried is way way out. It rubs on the back although I can fix that with taking the lip away a bit more. The front is as far back as it can go but still sits on the tyre. It is so bad the paint has gone orange because it has heated up so much when driving !

Will the 5mm make a big difference ?

not sure mate, i know some one with mm spyders 15" et 45 and he had to fold the rear lip up of the arches so they didnt rub, that was lowered 60mm. so i guess that it would be pretty much the same for 17's et 45 jay
