natural progression to bigger/better/faster/more comfy

I think after a few years with any car it can get a bit stale :S

I had a smoke grey 1.4 16v Sport (96 R reg) in 1998 till 2001

I had a blue (whats the colour called again... Carabic?! ) N reg 1.4 16v SRi that was converted to a 2.0 16v, then a 2.1 16v... then wrote it off. Owned from 2001 to 2004/5

Next up was a 2000 plate V reg1.0 12v that went 2.1 16v and got split as I was just fed up with it never doing what it was supposed to. From between 2004/5 to 2007

The last 2 were 2nd/3rd cars.... used a bigger, comfier daily

As above really, had a 12v that became 2.0 16v but it became pretty unreliable so I sold it and got a 172, got bored of that after a year and bought an S3, had that for 5 years now. Change of circumstances (house, kid etc) means I'm probably going to stick hold of the S3 for a while yet, which is no big issue.

iv been driving over 3 years and had quite a few cars in that time (about 10-12ish iic) but iv always liked the vauxhalls, my first b got me hooked and regretted selling in as the chod who bought it binned it about a week later, i could cry. i got this sport fairly cheap and think iv done everything to it in my power/budget/tools i have...
probs just having a shitty week or something i dont know.

id imagine the majority who dont own them no more decided to upgrade cars then?

I wouldnt say i got bored, but could afford a better/faster car.

Have always loved Corsa's and Nova's.

My car list is:
1994 Corsa 1.4 LS
1991 Nova 1.2 Snap
1994 Clio 16V
2000 106 Quiksilver
1995 Corsa GSi C16XE
2002 Astra Coupe Turbo
1994 E36 M3
1995 Corsa GSi X16XE then to C20LET
1996 Land Rover Discovery
1996 Vectra SuperTouring
1999 E36 328i Sport
2006 Astra VXR
1999 328i Sport (Current)

And in the not too distant future i plan to get another GSi and Restore it.

People always say how can you go from having such car then going to a shitty corsa. In all fairness it doesnt bother me.

You will soon realise that spending big money on a Corsa is seriously daft. Obviously a couple hundred quid won't hurt but when you get into 3k+ there are so many better cars out there that will benefit from the money being spent on them. We all plough money into cars, its our hobby but there're better cars to spend money on that will give you ten fold rewards.

il have to be honest and say il always like corsas, i just fancy a sleeper or something. faster, but not as attention seeking if you know what i mean. like an xe with poverty spec bumpers and steel wheels or something like that.
always fancied a nova aswell but i think the majority are ether rotten or live in gardens/garages 12 month of the year

i had an 5dr 2001 astra g before this and it was a practical car but i didnt have the love for it to waste time or money repairing it when it broke, so i think it needs to be something i have the love for

I think you always have a soft spot for cars that you first got into 'modding' I still have pictures up of my Turbo GSi everywhere because I was proud of it but I'd never buy another one.

thats true, my mk1 green 1.2 clio, tinted rear lights, halfords spec alloys, L.E.D dash strips and a badass tailpipe. looking back i laugh but would drive that thing from a full tank till empty all over the place without breakdown cover or a care in the world. loved it

come to think of it im sure its still running somewhere

Mine got written off, Then I ended up with a car to just run around in, A Peugeot 106 1.1, Until i could afford something better. Then I ended up with a Saxo VTR, Then a Seat Ibiza, Then The Astra came along and now I have the Lexus IS200.

Just slowly progressed to bigger cars as I never felt comfortable with smaller cars!

I got rid of mine as I could insure bigger and better things, also more comfortable! Had loads of cars, in double figures and im not even 21 yet (well tomorrow)! Just get bored easy, now own a leon cupra 20vt, fast, comfortable, reliable, practical, worst bit is its shite on fuel, but hey ho!

Will have another corsa one day! I always used to have shite weeks and thought about getting rid

when your talking about insurance i dont think its too much of an issue, the 1.4 astra was quite a bit dearer than this 1.6 corsa, only paying 600 for the year and iv got 3 points

my first car was a corsa 12v and at the time i loved the shape of them better than any other car that would be suitable for a first.
got bored of the shit power as it was a daily and i used the motorway every day.

just under a year later i bought a clio 182. didnt even consider buying a bigger engined corsa.

Got to old to be driving a neded up Corsa that was hugely loud. I bought a calibra that had similar power, better chassis and drivetrain and was larger and more comfy with more toys.

I would own another Corsa but as mentioned having £3k to throw at a small shopping trolley is hard to come buy as your priorities change in life.

never liked the idea of spending loads on my corsa and ending up with lots of nice quality parts fixed to a corsa.

Kept it till i was 25yrs and got better insurance, got something i'd liked for a long time and saw as worthwhile spending my money on

corsas are good for people in certain situations, but personnally i don't hold them in high regard, yes they can look nice and go fast, but its always going to be a vauxhall corsa

same can be said for most of the small hatches really, its like the 1st rung on the ladder

talking Corsa B era here btw, corsa D is totally different thing

Got rid because I needed a car that I had confidence to get me to work & back. 114k miles and the last 3 owners at least has given it death and it blew up on the way to work so I gave up & sold it. Id never go back to one
