Since the update the battery has been shit. It was never that great but i used to be able to get a day out if it, now i have to leave it in the van charging part way through. Charging also seems to be taking longer?

Charged up to 100% earlier, unplugged charger, battery went to 98% after a minute. Its been in use for 1hr 24mins and its down to 68%

anyone know of an app or setting that tells you whats using power at a given time?

Anyone else having bother since update?

Just checked and its off, even had wifi off to try and save battery. Keep closing apps from quickstart menu and turned push off, notifications off, location services are minimal.

Dont know what else to try :/

Going to let it run right down and see how long it lasts.

mine was crap on my 4 after the update! However, try rebooting it twice once after the other ( Hold home and lock button down at same time and hold till the apple logo appears). Mine is now a lot better and since i unplugged this morning at 0550 till now im on 87% with medium usage.

Have you tried doing a few cycles of completely discharging and fully recharging (best to switch the phone off until 100% charged) the phone? This usually helps as it'll reset counter for battery measurements.
IIRC there is a way of reseting the location permissions under the Reset menu (something like Settings > Reset > Reset Location....) and that might sort the 'purple arrow'.

Location Services - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2594332?start=0&tstart=0

Mine definatly seems better. I've no real evidence to back this up but it's on 76% now and I've made a few calls, Facebook, safari etc. No gaming though, that really munches the battery.
You must have something running in the background that you don't know about.

Handy that. The time zone was on so thats off now after the reset.

One other thing ive found is icloud, there is an option to backup using cellular data which was on.

Settings>icloud>documents&data>use cellular.

May be nothing.

Will keep phone off when it dies and fully charge it, try again tomorrow.

No games today. Ebay, autotrader and safari.

Now autotrader has cocked up and keeps saying timed out.

It's big enough without that on it.

A phone should be able to last at least a day.

I'm now at 28% after turning a couple of bits off.

I'll let the battery run right down to see if that helps.

Mine does that.

I reckon it's the phone software turning it off once it reaches 100% to prevent overcharging and to prolong battery life after cycles.

I noticed my 4s seemed worse than 3GS. So turned off push notifications for things like stocks etc which I don't use and turned the brightness down a fad. Seems fine now. Not great like. But ok

Currently on 70% with 3 hours 15 minutes usage (actually used for about 10 minutes).
6 hours 1 minute standby.

I'm giving it until the weekend then see if I can get it swapped.
