i bought a sony xplod sub today (new style)
and the instructions say it needs
vb:- 1.0 cu. ft.
Qtc:- 0.721
f3:- 44Hz

if it requires 1 cubic feet volume isnt that gonna be very small??
can someone shed some light on this please!

One cube for a 10" or 12" is about right mate. It isnt THAT small? My 12" Alpine type R's are in 0.75 cubic feet each !!! Sounds tight as my girls ass lol

some 12" subs work in 0.5 cubic feet (elemental designs) which is EXTEMELY small. as tomas said, thats about right. What sorta music do you listen to, and what model sub is it and how powerful is your amp?

yeah, a small sealed box then, better for the punchy bass.
