anything in the fibre optic field will be well paid. when you are qualified and the work is there then you should think about going self employed. i used to know a guy at college who did fibre optic cable jointing and he was earning a couple of grand a week!

In threads like these there is always a story about a Mate who earns a couple of K a week doing it. Must be a lot of Non Professional (Lawyer, Doctor, etc) earning 100k these days going by this Forum.

These easy to make loads of money jobs don't exist in reality.

Certainly not one you can just go on a 2 week day release course for anyway.

Probably cause it's true then. the lad I knew had his own business that was doing very well. It's not so strange for someone working in engineering to be earning £500 per day. We have a contractor we use for big projects that charges 2k for 4 days. He's shit hot at his job and it's worth in when you put it into perspective.

A one week course isn't enough to get you to that point obviously otherwise we would all be doing it.

I would take the figures they quote as a Gross.

Deduct Corporation Tax, Accountancy Fee's, PAYE & NI from that.

I can earn £350 -£500 (gross) a day if I went back to Contracting in my Profession. Although to get that that point involves some certification but more importantly at least 5 years experience.

Too much quoting of Gross weekly rates and this misconception of do a 1 or 2 week course and get 2k a week yadda yah going on in here, thats my point

I don't doubt that for a second, since I approve the quotes when we get them I know that it is gross we are talking about. That doesn't mean they aren't earning that amount though does it?

What was the course you went on in manc? Do that or is the pay shit?

Electrics? Tiler? Plasterer? Plumber? - All £120+ a day....

Tiling looks piss easy, mid-flow of a new kitchen here, and my old man was tiling, looks so simple, asked him how much somebody would have charged and he said £1000-1400. Did it in less than 2 days..!

Maybe I should do that shit.

Iv just started back industrial painting. Courses are easy blasting is easy and spraying either you have it or you don't. Not hard to learn but not easy to get perfect.
Currently working on a train station in Edinburgh, money is good if you don't mind getting dirty at your work.

A lot of the trades mentioned above require several years of establishment before geting qualified and decent money.

As mentioned above there is no quick way to earning this sort of money unless you have a qualificatio that allows you get into that specific field.

If you want some inspiration look into the engineering side of fire alarms. Joe W off here went back to college whilst working and is now qualified and earning good money with decent hours!

Looked into intruder alarms as ive done it before and is pretty easy tbh. Spoke to a sparky mate of mine and he steered me away from fire alarm as he said the sparks tend to do al that stuff

I am talking in general intruder and fire alarm which some of the contracts are quite lucrative in terms of supplying the equipment, installation and on going maintenance.

Continuring that theme Ive dealt with fire sprinkler installations recently and that is big bucks as again you get the on going maintenance/testing etc
