Simple answer - you cant.

Everyone wants everything for nothing. But at the same time, everyone wants to sell everything for massive profit. Cant be done these days.

It's a fucking nightmare. I hate selling on eBay, cars are the worst as it costs £8 everytime some numpty decided to bid and not turn up.

I got the phone number of the last one from eBay and hounded the life out of them.

I generally start items at 99p but you still get people pay too much and then complain afterwards. I think people just get keen and see sense later.

I helped my mum at a car boot sale last weekend. She was selling a bracelet (new but an unwanted gift) for £1.50 (prob worth maybe £8/9?). A woman asked how much, she said £1.50. Woman says what a rip off thats to expensive. I ask how much she would pay, she says 20p. She is asked to move on and not return.

But with ebay, i have the problem of selling an item, me leaving feedback and the other person refusing to! 20 items i have had this done on now!

No feedback is better than one negative feedback.
I have about 100 people who have not left feedback.

My thoughts on eBay:

- rip off fees for sellers
- mostly cheapskates that want to pay fuck all for items
- some people on there have no common sense, talk bullshit or are foreign and don't understand English
- only a handful of people on there that don't waste time or take the piss

I am going to finish sorting out my website for selling new products on for my business, and just use eBay for selling secondhand things of low value.

Fed up of it all TBH.

Hardly a rip off?
Were else can you reach a potential audience of millions worldwide?
It's quite cheap when you think about it..

It is a rip off, stop talking out of your ass.

If you sell mainly new products, you have to increase the selling price of your items to be able to cover the cost of eBay and PayPal fees as well as making some sort of profit (which anyone in IT for example will tell you, there is very little margin to be made unless you buy 1000s of whatever you are selling to negotiate some silly low cost price) so this does not make you very competitively priced.

Its not a Rip Off but its slightly devious the way the same company charges you twice for essentially the same service.

It is in no uncertain terms a rip off.

They could still make billions with sightly cheaper fees.

It is however a good way to get rid of stuff you can't shift elsewhere.

But its cheaper than any alternative that would get you the same number of potential buyers.

If you were the CEO of eBay/PayPal I bet a million quid you wouldnt be sat on your Leerjet "thinking about how you could make your service more fair".

You are right, I'd probably be thinking of ways to add another few mil onto my bonus.

That doesn't mean the prices aren't a rip off though.

Well stop moaning about it and dont sell on it in the first place you idiot.

You get told the fee's BEFORE you put a item up for sale so do your maths and stop moaning.
