I always thought 25 was the date for the big drop in insurance, but it seems not! Doing some "mock" quotes for when I turn 21 next month, and its showing some incredible differences. My current insurance is looking as though it will half, but the one that amazed me was:

FQ-340 Evo, at 20, 3NCB - £8000+
Same car, at 21, 4NCB, £1380.

Madness

I suppose mine went down from about 700ish to 500ish, better than a kick in the bollocks I guess

21 made no difference to me, went steadily down every year. 25 made no difference either.

Its not really a drop, more the fact that they wouldnt insure you at 20 with 3 years ncb but would at 21 with 4 years ncb

The 8k price is quoted so their percentage of "can not quotes" is lower, and they can say they insure 99% of people on 99% of cars for example

Mine made no difference at 25 and went up at 27
