if a car has mot and insurance but is currently sorn can a private plate be transfered over to it or will it have to be taxed at the same time ?

I managed to transfer one of my plates off a car that was insured and mot but only because it was sorned before the tax actually ran out.

ring the dvla office mate and they can post you a form out and you can transfer the plate if the car is sorn, out of mot and uninsured. just ring em up and they will send you 1.
