Check pricing on rackspace, their support is also excellent.
We do it but probably not competitive for that many users.

Not fasthosts - My e-mail is actually down because of them, had to revert all settings to a standard shitty outlook.
We've massively fallen out

I've always given Fasthosts a wide birth as i've never heard a decent thing about them. Even online reviews slate them as a reliable host.
Whittie - Guessing you'll be moving?
Sam - I haven't personally used office 365 but everyone i know who has/are haven't had any problems. As mentioned though, have a look at Cobweb as they are just as cheap.

I use vidahost.com and they are brilliant. never had any complaints and if i've ever had a problem they're on the phone right away sorting. only problems were caused by me btw!
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Yeah TBF Google Apps For Domains (Gmail for people with their own domain names) has been good for me, been using it free for about a year and am just doing a trial of their business version.
Managed to get Outlook working with it too using their sync software.
The thing I don't like about these hosted Exchange outfits is they tie you in to at least a year's hosting with them, whereas I'm sure Google don't.
Don't like being tied into contracts in case service becomes shit and I am forced to stay with them or pay for the rest of the unused term to get out of it.
Ideally I would like a hosted Exchange setup but if I can't find something that fits the bill perfectly I will probably end up sticking with Google TBH.

Depends what hardware you've got lying about and what Microsoft licencing you have, doesn't have to be that expensive.

Hardware isn't so much a problem as I've got loads of boxes/parts lying around to build a few systems etc. but it's more the software.
The only MS software I can get cheaply is Windows and Office, but Exchange I can't see a way of getting cheaper than £600 (and I would need to factor in the cost of buying SBS as well to run it on).

SBS has integrated exchange.
No Partner or VL licencing? I'm sure you can get SBS and server/exchange from either.

Oh right, I thought you had to buy it separately! 
I should probably look into either of those, in fact I did once upon a time but gave up after half an hour of looking at different MS websites on the various programmes they offered and stuck with the Registered Refurbisher Programme for Windows licensing only on secondhand PCs that I sometimes sell.
