That video is the exact reason that Knockhill has a bad reputation for idiotic driving.

2:36 actually lines it up for the exit of the chicane by being fully off the track on the entrance, naughty bastard.
I would have expected a flag for that and a bill for turf.

Well worth a visit. It's not like those videos anymore, they've tightened up a lot. Great track though. I imagine I'll be trying to get back next year sometime. Only downside is that full days are rare, it's usually more 4 hour afternoons .
I can't wait to try it on tyres that work. Last time I was on my Eagle F1s which were beyond hopeless. Fell off at least 6 times with them That's another good point, big run-offs

The video was from the 6th of this month, so yeah it does still go on.
It all depends on the event.

The Cossie one isn't? No kerbs.
The other one isn't bad driving, he just pulls too hard back on with no grip.
Biggest hazard in that other video was that Saxo off line so no one knows what he's going to do in the corners. Everything else looked fairly well mannered.

Sorry I was thinking of the Cossies. The first vid I haven't watched in full so as far as I'm aware, there was no dodgy maneuvers in that, just a Corsa overdoing it slightly but that's just a trackday, people driving fast aren't always going to do it perfectly.

Edit, that Honda move at 3.34 is a bit naughty.

Just watched it now, Honda was a bit cheeky but I don't think it'd merit more than a slightly closer eye from the marshalls and maybe a quick word at the end of the session.

He's lucky the AX didn't come back on line and take him out. You can see him returning to line under braking and having to readjust back out.
Happened to me at Donington, someone entered my turn in. Luckily for him overtaking was on the left and it was a left hand bend and I was able to go off wide. Right hander I'd have had nowhere to go except his driver's door.

Main problem there is that they don't come back on line after a pass, mostly due to people leaving it too late.
Same reason they used to have the cones there - so there aren't people going two abreast in to bends.
I have to say I had no problem at all with etiquette when I was there, certainly no worse than anywhere else I've been. I do think there are more bonkers people per head of capita but certainly nothing you can't look out for.
AX for example was off line and going slow - bit more confidence and he would be setting his own lines up earlier. Overtakes should be with consent and I don't typically spoil my own progress unless I absolutely can't help it. Not a real worry there because he was going slow enough to adjust. Problem would be if he's going fast offline and can't avoid but in that case the Honda wouldn't have been able to pass anyway.

Ian - the private days are normally much better run than the hot hatch / speed sunday type that the first vid was filmed on.
