I made a thread about this before. I have some Comps that use the chrome plastic centre caps, but after a hard drive where the wheel gets so hot because of the brakes they must soften because of the heat and fall out.

I can literally get them to fall out at will. It's really frustrating...

Any ideas how to keep them in? I was thinking of getting behind the will and having something expand to keep the pins in the wheel slot pushed firmly in.

I need ideas.

When they're new they push in solid and feel like they'd never come out, but after some heat they go lose and you can wiggle them about until eventually they just fall out.

If you dont want to swap to metal ones, you could make a small spreader bar behind using something like M4 threaded bar and four nuts to lock into position.

Or spots of clear silicone on the rim. Not too much for removal later on.

Better chipped than lying in the gutter at the side of the road?

Put electrical tape on the tabs, makes them tight as fuck, used to struggle getting them off my Comps when I wanted them to come off.
