got caught speeding, 35 in a 30 (residential), took option foir speed awareness course
month later, got caught twice again, 37 in a 30, 40 in a 30. Apparently only got 3 points for each of these, but she paid late by 3 weeks. Now has a court summons for the nonpayment, as they sent the cheques back
opinions on outcome? shes currently going through a divorce and on anti-depresssants as she says theres a lot on her mind, been driving 20 years with clean licence before now

Oh right.
Solicitor time then I'm afraid if its going to court, especially if she tells the court of her current situation.

I'm confused, her condition is bad, but doesnt come into it IMO.
She was given a chance on speed awareness course, then commited the offense twice more so soon? All she can do it explain situation. I wouldn't expect anything good, judge will be pissed of about the situation, are you even allowed to drive when on anti-depressants ?
If not, should probably keep that quiet

Can't see them offering much leniency for the same offense 3 times in little over a month and then failing to pay in time.
Was the payment late due to forgetting or not actually having the money to pay? If it's the latter and she can show that she was struggling then that may help but if she's forgot then I'd expect a higher fine.

Not being funny but sounds like she's a danger on the road at the moment. If her minds elsewhere it won't be long before she has an accident! I wouldn't use it as an excuse because it's a lame one!
Sounds like she needs a holiday!!

She earns good money as she sells new homes with big bonuses. I think shes facing 500 quid fine but wondered if she could lose licence?

Naa she won't loose her licence.
Just tell her to go in tell them her situation Nd that she has the means to pay it there and then

I think it's pretty bad when people start using the fact they're on anti depressants as an excuse. Someone I know was on them and got caught drink driving and got let off VERY lightly.
Shouldn't be driving IMO.
However I very much doubt she will loose her license over some speeding offences.

She just needs to go in there, appologise, hand over the money and take the punishment, no excuses. Sure she'll get minimum for that

Her "condition" is clearly messing with her judgement and awareness so more to the point Why is she still fucking driving? GET OFF THE ROAD!

She has been told she is ok to drive still. See what happens. Solicitor will say if to bring up personal situation or not

Why is it harsh?
She's been done for speeding THREE times in close sucession in urban areas (30mph limits).. She's clearly not paying attention and I'll bet the drugs dont help.
Sympathy wont help if she kills someone.

anti depressants hardly have you tripping your balls off.
i think he was using her situation to suggest shes got a lot on her plate so forgot to pay on time, rather than suggest shes driving around like a knob everywhere mounting kerbs and trying to run down kids

So taking a sedative and then driving is safe yeah? The idea of an AD dug is to relax you, is that really a good thing when you are incontrol of 1 tonne of steel?

tell her not to submit her earnings on the court papers
All the fines are earnings based now - the fine can only be £350 if you do not disclose your earnings
If she submits earnings it can easily double this

A lot is misconceptions about anti-depressants here.
In general someone using their prescribed anti depressants wouldn't be impaired in the slightest, and it should not be an excuse for poor driving.
AD's are not used to 'relax' in most people using them.
Sounds like she needs a break, if she cant concentrate on driving she should stop and seek help.

Pretty much guaranteed it'll be £60 fine, £40 CPS Costs, £15 Victim Surcharge and 6 points.
