head off, sump off, undo rods push pistons up,
new rings then reassemble
while your there you’d have new headgasket and id recommend new cambelt

this!
shouldnt really cost you much more is labour either as the main bearings are exposed while doing rings and the other parts sumpset + headset and headbolts are all things that will be getting put back together anyway. just a case of using new parts instead of the old ones.

pikey method taking rods and pistons out and honing bores whilst cranks still in place.
be cheaper to take engine out yourself and strip it to a long motor...(sump to rocker) and then get it rebuilt and fit it yourself.
isnt many garages these days that like doing engine rebuilds as people dont wana pay and tbh if they charge less than £600-700 then its too cheap, parts alone would be £350-400 +labour, machining etc

For the cost you should use new headbolts everytime you refit the head.
