I need a new watch and so my parents have offered to get me one for my birthday.
I don't really know much about watches, such as good brands to buy, other than i'm not going to get an Omega or Breitling for £400
So, i've got between £200 - £300 to play with. Tesco are allowing you to change clubcard vouchers at Goldsmiths Jewellers for 4-1, hence the £300 as it will be £75 of vouchers.
I want it to be smart and half decent, as it will be worn with a suit rather than when working. I'm not fussed on whether or not it is a leather or metal strap, but would prefer an analogue face rather than digital. I quite like the look of some of the Citizen Eco Drives, as well as one of the Hugo Boss ones.
Any suggestions or pointers for brands to avoid?
Edited, to reduce the budget slightly. I'm quite happy to pay the extra under £400.

Ask the fella off here with all the Rolex watches where he got his from. Doubt any of them cost more than that.

Lol. One of my colleagues bought a few 'replica' watches recently. They looked the part, but I doubt they'll still be going in 12 months time and that they'd fool anyone that knows anything

That's a really difficult price range from that retailer!

Citizen Calibre 8700 Eco-drive..
Might as well spend the money on something with a decent bit of engineering rather than some cheap tat with a poncey fashion brand stamped on it.

A mate of mine has just purchased the Christopher Ward watch in the link below and I must say I'm really impressed with it for the money.

The citizen eco-drives are nice, wouldn't mind one.
As above though, my money would go on a mechanical Tissot.

Agreed! Love my Tissot watches.
If you can extend your budget slightly, look at longines too, great watches for the price.
