Iv got the bailey dv30. Personally think they are better than forge as you don't have to mess around with springs if you map it and don't need servicing as often. If your going to get the forge tho get awesome gti's own branded one it's the 007p without forge written on it and is about 20 quid cheaper.

If you wanted a VTA then you'd need a Forge Split-r iirc, which sound wank. I'd leave the standard one on personally.

Mines basically a split-r and 007 it does both jobs, only thing with one is it takes a bit of messing around to get it set up properly

I know, I've had one! Unless you're doing a big power upgrade to warrant a 007p, I seriously wouldn't bother. You're not gonna get a VTA without issues anyway.

Use a CAI (cold air induction kit) with an open cone filter, and the standard diverter valve will make the same noise! I had the very same setup with an Apexi filter on my A3 1.8T. Sounded good!

As said get a forge 007p, coupled with a good induction kit and it's quite loud.

You'll need a metal one anyways if you map the car as the standard plastic ones fail.

I would recommend using the standard bosch one.

Forge one is a waste of money.

Btw, standard s3/tt/LCR one is good for 300bhp and you don't have to buy/change springs or service them.

Servicing them is only a case of whacking a bit of grease around the seals inside them, hardly difficult unless you need to buy the whole kit from Forge (which is £13).

Still a waste of time when the standard one is completely fine. (if the vRS uses the same DV as the TT/LCR/S3)

Buy a second hand one rather than new, saves you about £30-£40.

Mine was already on the car (reversed as well), got the standard Bosch jobby in the glove box when i picked it up.

Couldn't hear it at all when the standard air box was fitted, once i put the CAI on it became.. really rather loud!

What colour is it fazza?

Doesnt make a difference really, does make them a tad louder but thats it.

Mine was reversed for the reason i found out the other day. Put it back in the 'normal' way and the engine cover was kinking the Vaccum pipe. Put it back in reverse

Mines red
