i read that the cheaper ones can be puorous (spelling) and can eventually crack as they arn't made with the best materials.

It's not Fox Racing ones is it?
Coz usually I'd so no the make doesn't matter, but in the case of Fox Racing alloys then definitely yes. They are complete poo.

I have TSW Evo R's, good quality, got them cheap too @ £300 for brandnew quality, only done under 100 miles from new over about 1 month.

I think wheels are completly up to you, I buy what I want because I like it, if anyone gives me a hard time then they can GTF because its my choice. Regarding quality of build though, I would not put my money into Fox, heard too many bad things about their quality. Allesio and Team Dynamic are very nice.

It depends alot on what image you want your car to give off and how you will be driving your car. If you want your car to give off the image of a racer then you want Speedline, OZ or Compomotive. These wheels, Compomotive and Speedline especialy, are Rally bred, extremly well built and extremly strong. If you just want eye catching good looks then anything goes really.
Don't forget though, wheels can make or brake a car, tacky brand wheels can really put a downer on your car.
Speedline everytime baby

So what happens when the alloy fractures at 70mph and leaves you careering towards the central reservation? Also cheap ones become porous and you end up with slow punctures, and a perfectly fine tyre. Cheap brands tend to go for cheap materials and cheap designing processes and the air can escape through the shit quality alloy.

They do??? since when........ imo they are all crap and look cheap. If you see a fox design you like, go look for another wheel with a similar design and buy them, avoid fox altogether

well by regulation all alloys have to be x-ray inspected before being dispatched so they shud in theory be of equal quality etc, just depends how tight the operator is who checks the alloys!!

x-ray shows up any imperfections/air pockets which would give a weak point in the wheel, i've been in round a few factories and it is taken pretty seriously, i say go with wat u like!!!

many of the big names in wheel manufacture operate under aliases or sister companies so some of the time ur gettin same product!!

i've never had any trouble with any wheels i've had and i'm not a brand/label freak, i now have speedlines but thats cos i like em!!
