Right need some help, I'm thinking about completely hiding the airfilter... What i wanna do is have the induction pipe coming from the trottle body down to the front bumper, then have the afm in the front bumper area then filter tucked away in the bumper... What I'm asking is will the afm still work and pick up a reading when it's that far from the trottle body?

wont make a difference if its near or close as long as you wire it correctly

i know this isnt an answer to your question but as adam (edges 58) said leave the airflow meter near the throttle body as couldnt lenghtening the wiring the amount you need alter the electrical resistance therefore altering the reading ? in turn messing up air / fuel ratios ?

I could but ideally don't want it to be seen at all. Also won't look too good with it sticking out there like that. I guess I'm just gonna have to try it and see I suppose.

But that's what I thought could happen is it confusing it all an not running right

As long as its wired up right there shouldn't be a problem it the same on the z20lets when people put a 1.9 airbox on you have to move the meter

Only thing tho is that the zlet is turbo, so will therefore not worry about air reading loss because of the forced induction? Or am I wrong? Lol

i did the same and hid my air flow metre an filter in the drivers inner wing between plastic cover and front bumper and it worked perfectly fine aslong as gets good amount of air it will get air to fuel ratio (witch should do at front bumper

)

That's where I was thinking of putting it but on the passenger side, Il probs make up some sort of air ram that can't be seen to just to be sure it's getting the air it needs. Thanks for that bud

how will you get it to go in passenger side ? have you got a ecotec pipe ? or power cap ? if ecotec adapter i guess ul just spin it around and then you get the idle control valve pipe hidden up aswell ?

Iv got a flange that I can then have a 3" bit of 90 degree pipe welded onto it. Pretty much the updated let one but with out the sensor hole and dv take off. Then run a full pipe to the bumper from there.

oh i see, yea i didnt think of doing that, but on other hand the drivers side of engine bay will look very empty tho ?

an passenger side above gear box will look cramped up ??

The whole engine bay is being smoothed and pipe and wire tucked, so want the arches and stuff on show. That's why I thought I'd do it on the passenger side, abit like a let's boost pipe really lol.
