Im not married but just out of interest, when ever I've obtained a quote online I've tried it as single and as married and it certainly made a difference with me,on most sites with different cars such as td Astra, cav Sri and an Astra gsi it lowered the quotes by about 300

see, our lass doesnt have a licence. if it meant it would bring the insurance down more than the cost of a provisional then id get her one and put her on as a leaner
when iv check quote doing that some go up and some come down but its only for the sake of £20 or whatever. dont see the point

When I had my first car, a 1998 1.7tds Astra, id only passed my test 5 months previous, was 21,no points or anything, the payments were £70 a month,I added my gf to it who passed her test in the following January and who was 26,and who also has a clean license,it lowered the payments to £50 a month,I don't get how they work it out though coz I tried getting quotes and adding people like mum and dad,my mums 48,been driving about 25 years,6 years no claims, and my dads 50,been driving 33 years and has full no claims bonus, adding either of them upped the quote by about 400/500 quid!

Who would question it though? You're not going to have to produce marriage certs are you? So could probably get away with it.
