Iirc you can use the manifold and turbo off a Corsa VXR and it'll go more or less straight on. Obviously you still need management and all the other kit, but it's a start.

As said, it can be done, pound for pound against an XE or LET, it's not worth it. Reliability, I believe is often an issue, I've heard of a few in the past but not many saw a lot of miles.

If you want to do something smallblock and turbo'd, I believe the X18XE1/Z18XE have a better history of being turbo'd reliably. As yet, I've not heard of a turbo'd X18XE1/Z18XE in a B too so it is something different although that could possibly be down to space available.

You can buy off the shelf kits for them. They are around £4000 though, will be cheaper and better in the long run to just fit a LET.

TBH you can do a turbo conversion for sub £500 on standard management, you will only be able to run around 5-8 psi tho.

Best way to do it is turbo off a vxr corsa with manifold bolts straight on. U need to then fit a oil filter relocation kit as down pipe goes through that area. Custom down pipe made ( needs a notch in it to kit over oil filter relocation plate. U will need a inter cooler and custom pipe work, inlet manifold ( any after market, makes it easier to fit boost pipes as throttle body is moved).
Then u need to lower compression so compression plate or new pistons ( vxr pistons and rods fit with a lil rebore).
U will need to tap on a oil feed and return for turbo.
Then a aftermarket ecu is best the na remap

Is cheaper easier and more effective to fit a let

Quoted my U2U to you then.

Cheap shit conversion can be done for under a grand, Ideally want pistons and management on top of that, Then it skyrockets.

It isn't cheap, Nor reliable, Nor easy.

I would keep standard compression, put it on stand alone and boost the tits off it,
Seen a standard compression c20seh running 21psi

I'm looking into doing this too, been pricing everything up and to get it done properly is going to cost quite abit, pistons and rods are about £900 turbo inc manifold £500 turbo kit with intercooler, oil cooler, turbo timer etc is £600, new injectors, fuel pump... rather costly
