probably get grief for this but...
we've (me and the lass) just been upto asda were i work to get a bit of xmas shopping in. coming out of asda i noticed what appeared to be a white van rite up my backside (stupidly close!!) we were approaching a roundabout and he was less than a small cars length from behind me. i went round the roundabout steady as the boot was full and the lass plays hell when i go past 4k anyway, basically a steady ride home as its wet.
i came off the roundabout and the white van is still up my arse so i gave it some (when i say some a mean not very much at all!!) went from about 20-30ish to 60 and the next thing i see blue lights
got out and stood at the roadside..
copper: do you know why iv pulled you?
i was tempted to say 'cos you categorise me as a boy racer' but i didn't lol
me: because my exhaust is a bit loud, i dont know officer...?
copper: iv pulled you because i couldn't keep up with you.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!!
me: whey i wasn't speeding and i didn't wheel spin or anything like that officer
copper: i presumed the car was stolen the way you shot off, have you been to asda
me: no its mine all insured and that, got my licence here (handed it to him) and yeah i work there aswell, just been to get a bit shopping in.
copper: (as he looks at my licence) so where you off to now jed, back to coxhoe?
me: no im going to McDonalds first (just round the corner) then to the Chinese for the lass cos she doesn't like mcdons
copper: ok take it steady
then he followed me into mcdons, checking my reg im guessing
SERIOUSLY, THEY GOT NOWT BETTER TO DO!!
i bet if i was in a picasso or something they wouldn't of bothered me
soz for the rant i just cant understand why they pulled me or even still why they were so close to my bumper
filth

The van in question was Police?
Did you not see it was full of coppers?
I got pulled the other day after going for dinner with mates, just seeing if I was pissed because I was taking it easy on the frost.

Guy told me I had missed an indication, even though my exit was clear from the choice of lane.
They just have to say something.

They're doing what they do throughout the year. Personally I'm glad they're out there looking for people who aren't driving legitimately. I've been pulled numerous times in the past, often possibly because I opted to drive a black Corsa as a young driver. It's the nature of the beast, drive a car which has a reputation and the Police are going to prioritise.
None of that means they have the right to follow dangerously closely but that's a complaint you'd have to take up with them. Unfortunately their are some that think they do have that right.

you could've seen they were police by tapping your brake lights every few seconds.
the silver bits on there jackets show up, easy to to tell.
this is why i prefer having a semi standard motor, no agro with the police or arseholes.

i see what you mean mike but the next 3 cars i seen coming out out macky d's were:
- a clio with one headlight completely out
- a 56 mondeo who was on his mobile
- and a young lass (no pics lol) in a hyundi getz doing her make-up with her music thumping
yet i get pulled cos they cant keep up with me when they want to tickle the back of my neck

why did you not tap the brake then? they'd soon have backed off because if they went into the back of you, they would be shitting themselves.

there wasn't any need to brake mate, as i was just rolling upto a roundabout, early checks, then went round steady as it was wet. they probably would of pulled me for tapping my brakes for dangerous driving

They don't need a reason to pull you, Its not America.
You would complain like funk if your car got nicked and they didn't stop it after following it .
I got stopped for doing 40 in a 60 the other day due to it being icey (On the bike). I was polite and the officer was nice to me and let me on my way quickly.

You can't really moan about being stereotyped as a boyracer when you put your foot down hard with a loud exhaust. Its to be expected.
