people that have c20xe in there car have you welded to strenghen the front end ? keep get told all different things off people ?

and will the engine mounts go straight in or willi have to do a bit of fabricating

I've not welded mine.
It's a must on Nova's generally but the Corsa doesn't need the front end strengthening.
You'll need the O/S conversion mount but it bolts straight on so no need to fabricate anything.

dont need to strenghen a corsa never have with any of mine even the 3.0 mounts bolt straight in u only need drives side mounts depending on shell type 1 or 2

my 16xe has the cross member welded quite well

think that's down to the fact its had a bit of a shunt before though

cant see it being necessary on a valver though

Never did before with my xe, but as I'm changing to a let in a few months and don't want to then go back and reck all the paint, I welded in the plates now.

Not really needed on xe's only high power let's really

If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing it right, get it strengthened no point being half arsed with things

If I was doing it I'd get it welded.

Although in saying that my MK2 Astra held the 16v alright and it was made of rust! Seriously the bloody toe eye and everything rusted off!

My mate's old Corsa had an XE in for years then he changed for a 250bhp LET, within a year it broke the welds on his way into work. He said it was knocking really badly and everything seemed to go a bit 'loose', put it on the ramp and found the cross member waving at him

Obviously that was running a 250 bhp LET but it hadn't been in all that long, the XE probably had some involvement in weakening it.

i did around 70000 miles with mine on road and track as an xe then let of various powers with no strengthening, but i would say if i was doing another i would as the B's are getting on abit now and they will only get weaker/rustier
