Someone recently said to me if they really felt they were a threat you would not be allowed to get on the plane with them.

They tested this on mythbusters as well, no matter what they done, no device interfered with the planes controls/gauges etc.

When they done the test though, they were told stay a certain distance away from the airport, either though you can use mobile devices INSIDE airports?

Is it something to do with possible interference with the control tower? Not sure what kind of frequencies they work on?

years ago i turned a device on cant rememb er what it was but it turned the lights off

but recently i went on a plane and left my tablet on by mistake and it caused no harm

i'd rather devices were turned off if there was any slight indication it might affect take off

so you cant take 150ml of shampoo on a plane but can take 10 mobile phones that could take a plane down on landing?

I've been saying this for years! I'm sure it's just a way to demonstrate, that the flight personnel are the absolute authority when on a plane.
I don't believe the FAA actually thinks the electronics have an effect on the planes instruments.

you can though, you can take as much liquid as you want on... you just have to buy it in the departure lounge

could take a lighter on and buy a bottle of whisky and have a dangerous bomb

Nah, she died because the pilot weren't actually a pilot. He faked it so he could meet her/fly her where she was going.
