Can't say a lot about the car but dreamscience are a massive name in.offering generic remaps/base maps for other tuners/hand held mapping units. Need to double check to see who the map is from whether that's dreamsceince thensleves or another tuner as that will dicatate how good the map is and check if you get the stratergem (hand held unit)

Nice looking cars but pretty fragile. Mine had £3.5k worth of REPAIRS done in 6 months and the car was only 4 yrs old with 32k miles.
The gearbox costs £1340 for a rebuild. The rest was on a new Intercooler, full air con system and other bits and bobs.
Would never have another one.

you think, mate changed from a focus rs running 350bhp to a astra vxr with just a remap and exhaust and he was using ALOT more fuel in the astra.

You don't buy a car like this and worry about fuel. I use 20 a day when I'm not working pottering about.

Okay as I say think I will just leave it with regards this vxr, to be honest guys have to say thanks for being so honest with your thoughts, so many folk will stick up for there own cars manufacture no matter what car but I think the general opinion off the astra vxr is that it can have its fair share off costly repairs / unreliablty issues.
having just been over to vxronline and reading a few posts it would seem mpg figures vary wildly, some reporting low 20s and some saying as high as high 20`s on town driving which is what I 99% drive at.

Can get gearbox rebuilt a lot cheaper than that.

Had mine about a year with no problems what so ever. Coming up 4 years old and as far as im aware it's previous owner had no problems either. Been on track etc so hasn't exactly had an easy life so far. Great cars tbh.

Couldnt stand mine. Spent 10k on an astra, before you spend that kinda money look at what else you can buy. I found mine was really boring after about two weeks

All cars have problems and any car in the same class as the VXR will have similar consumption.
Wouldn't have a Golf GTi for sensor issues
Wouldn't have a Focus ST for mediocre performance
Etcetc see they all have downsides

Apart from pipes popping off which between us we have rectified, oh and when it was mapped it split the recirculation valve which I replaced for a Forge.
