ive decided its time to drop a c20xe in my corsa... i have come a cross a lad local to me who has one in a tigra he wants 400 quid for the engine , box, loom, brakes, shafts, hubs basically all but a gear linkage and exhaust... the engine has done 110,000 miles and needs a head rebuild... would you risk it or am i goin to be buying a pandoras box of problems??? cheers

If it can be heard running and sounds alright, i dont see why there would be a problem.

In what way does it need a head rebuild?? Snapped belt?? Porous head??

ignore that comment, didnt read the part about the head rebuild. You could look at it a different way though. It costs around £300 for all the mounts, hubs, shafts etc. So for an extra £100 you are getting an engine, brakes, loom etc. If you think of it like that, its a good deal.

that what i was thinking he just said hes gonna throw in a new water pump and se of valves... all im aware of is its had gasket gone

and a new head gasket set aswell so you reckon its a good deal or what

buy it whip the head off in spect bottom end whilst its off give it what it needs freshen up gasket set head rebuild skim head gasket shouldnt be a problem

yh youve all aaid what i was thinkin jut wanted extra opinions as this is my first conversion and aint much of a mechanic lol cheers lads!!!!!
