18 years ago, 18 fucking years ago FFS

If this was a white guy murdered by a group of black guys it would have been brushed under the carpet.

Sick of it, yes its sad but its been a media shit storm whipped up by them

Farce that it's taken 18 years to sort out. But I don't agree it would have been brushed under the carpet if he had been white. Any murder case that had taken 18 years to get some kind of justice would have been in the media like this.

They were discussing sentencing on the radio this morning.

They'll get a lighter sentence because they were teenagers and the laws/guidelines were different at the time, yet some other law has come into place that prevents politicians intervening.

How can they not have any consistency at all. If I applied my notion of common sense, I'd be using the laws from today, not a mish mash.

So if the law at the time was that they should be hung, drawn and quartered would they do that now? Would they hell. What a load of bollocks.

It's been proven there was institutional racism within the police force 18 years ago, what's your problem?

18 years ago it was a bunch of white guys murdering a black guy for no reason other than not liking black people, he didn't get any medical attention and the two coppers who turned up didnt even touch him. He was left to die on the pavement. By the time the medics arrived he was dead. Even though the police got a bunch of calls all about the same group of lads they didn't even arrest them until it got political, by then most of them had tried to get rid of the evidence.

Stephen got that treatment because he was black, his mate was black too who was with him so they thought it was gang related or some bullshit.

Because of all of this the police are now better equipped to deal with people with medical problems which is a good thing imo.

Me?

No problem at all, just seems an utter chew doing it all again 2 decades later. If it has to be done then do it behind closed doors over the space of a half hour and stop wasting tax payers money hand over fist for one deceased person, theres a recession on!

Not at all I guess I dont see why it needs to cost several million quid though!! Theres a lot of crime these days, maybe if the sentencing and punishment was a bit more point to point & severe then this wouldnt be the case.

Stuff like the jacko trial, NOTW shambles etc, whys it all on TV for a month, just get on with it, have some clever educated people in a room and thrash it out in a few days then decide if there guilty or not!!

.............place is a joke man it does in my dish on a daily basis!!

No, its my money and your money. I can't think of a better way to spend it than to send the people who murdered an innocent lad with his life in front of him to prison finally after getting away with it for so long. Rather money spent on this than on the many other White Elephants around the country

There was a bloke on the news earlier from some association of Black police officers talking about the case. How can that not be racist, ffs.

Justice should not be dictated to by economics. The minute is it is, we are all fucked.
