Every morning and evening at 6 I would be caught staring at that thing, waiting for the fluids to drain.

Can't believe the engineering that most have gone in to that thing. Very impressive.

Would the clear side have to be a heavier fluid so that the fluorescein solution doesn't slosh around? I need to find out how it works

Then again, if the vein within the dial was fine enough, it would possibly work like a mercury or alcohol thermometer.

I was thinking it's just gas and it's actually the gas that's pumped in and out.
