Cheers 'anonymous' and Marc
About third distance at the moment Rich. Not really sure if thats good or not, but I'm finding it easier every time I go out. Going to crank it up a bit this weekend. It's more a case of where to run, I never seem to have a destination. I just go and run. I'm going to get my Dad to drop me off somewhere and then run home so I have a goal.

You really need to be getting longer runs in than 9 mile at this stage with only 7 weeks to go. To stand any chance of completing it and not getting injured you should be upto at least 15 mile by now. Respect for doing it mate. It's a huge distance and not to be taken lightly. I'm doing London the week before and want to finish within 4 hours, last 3 weeks mileage around 35 with long runs of 18, 19 and 20. Got a couple of 22 milers planned and another 20 this week. Plan your routes on www.mapmyrun.com

I have a beginners plan and I'm on course. I'm not aiming for anything like a decent time. Just to finish in one piece. My first half distance should be this weekend according to said plan.

Cheers mate. Im not ignoring your advice btw. I think youre probably more advanced so train harder for better times. Im loosely following a beginners plan set out by the marathon.operators. Seems ok so far.

Thought there was only a certain limit you should run in training, like 18 miles or something?

Personal preference but its all about 'time on feet' that makes the difference. A marathon is basically two distances. Getting to 20 mile is relatively easy, its the final 6 mile thats the really hard work.

Thats how my plan is going about it. But it is just personal preference and knowing your body. No harm in running more if you can.
