Okay im seriously thinking i want something to go drifting in as the weather is going to be bad next month or so

£1000-£1500 . £2000 max but that would have to have some spec
Options?

Im thinking E36 or 200sx etc

all e36 msport or IS have a LSD standard,

Just got to many cars, but will have to find somewhere for the astra for a month or so!

MX5 in the wet?

I'd say you could pick up a better E36 than them for 1500 quid.

This with a M50 manifold would do the job. You could get it for less than 2k.

Over a curry at the weekend we were hatching a plan for a weapon of a car....

We've seen a V10 M5 engine for sale - but the question was what shell

E30, Capri or Mk1 Escort RSR tubed shell

Anyway.... back to reality.

so nothing to fancy! Stripped out E36 with a cage on the deck with made camber is what id love !

whats the Settings for drift spec? loads of front camber?

loads of front camber castor and tubbed arches so you can get crazy steering angles

trick diff or just a welded one

prob a bit of toe out on the rear to make it more twitchy

E36's msport and IS didn't have LSD as standard so be carefull.

The very early 328i sport (95/early96) had an LSD, the later models has ASC. If its got the switch in front of the gearstick, it won't have a slippy diff.

IS's didn't have 1 as standard, but im not sure if it was possibly available as an optional extra. I havn't seen many if any for sale with 1 from factory.

Front camber/Caster top mounts

Stiff rear springs? plates behine rear hubs....

Im sure its toe in to be more rear end happy on the rear?!?!?

toe in gives better stability, less oversteer (unless heaps of toe in)

E30. My old E30 would go sideways at any given chance and cheap and easy to modify. Coilovers. Cage, one seat and weld the diff. Done.
