Why do people lie about bad bits of the car??

Went to see a 106 last week, "bad bits" arch trim missing, paint peeling on boot. Sounds simple, I get there, and steering cowls are missing, has wrong clocks in, every warning light is on, needed 2 tyres

Just been to see another tonight. "bad bits" needs drop links, and a thermostat fitting, again not bad. Get there, gear box bearing is rattling its nuts off, glove box was on the passenger floor, bonnet release in behind where glovebox should be, bolts missing out of front panel, central locking doesn't work, abs light was on.

Why can people not be honest? I've never had trouble selling a car cause I'm simply honest, chances are the serious people that have turned up to see my cars have bought them cause I'm honest.

This is why I won't travel far to see a car.

I'm that honest I get worried about things 99% of people would never notice.

First person to look at every car I've sold has bought it, 2 flying up from England having never seen it before.

I couldnt lie selling a car due to the simple fact that I hate buying a car and then finding out bad things

same. i looked at a corsa c sri the other day. no mention of any bad bits except a couple of minor dents, get there and the o/s rear quarter and wing mirrors was resprayed by ray charles, big crease in the pass door, looked like someone poured nitromors over one of the headlamps, the whole headlight/foglight assembly pushed into the dash, centre console fucked up where they put an aftermarket one in, electric window motor fucked etc etc

I usually just go with the attitude that if its cheap then something must be wrong so expect some minor issues.

That's the thing neither were that cheap really.

I've done a 500 mile round trip before. And my last 106 was a 200 mile round trip and got back at 1am but I knew by the pics and after talking to the lad it was well looked after. Regret selling it, I wont find one as well specked and clean for the money.
