looking into to doing a small rebuid on my c20xe just wondering what parts i should replace was going to do water and oil pump, cam belt kit, head gasket also would i need the head skimmed if i replaced this?
quick replys will be much appreciated cheers

no need to skim if it's never over heated.
Whilst the head is off, i'd get the valves re lapped in and stem seals changed aswell.

id give the head a light skim, whoever says dont is taking a chance, its an alloy head on a cast block it would make sense to make sure heads perfectly flat.
to lap valves in you will want:
headstands, valve sprin compressor, pliers(pull stem seals off) and lapping in paste/stick...just search on ebay, get the grinding paste for about £9

depending on budget depends how far you want to go and what you want to do with the engine tbh.

problem is where to stop. you could simply do headgasket, stem seals, cam seals, inlet/ex gaskets and water pump and belt.
if doing oil pump then you may aswell put some arp rod bolts in if plan to rev it and big end and main bearings, then with crank out you may aswell re-ring so its done properly, but may cost about £40-£450 for all the parts, bearings, gasket sets, bolts etc
