I'm looking for a 2001-2005 2.0 JDM STi with a 6speed.

Anyone know of any or have ideas where to find one thats a insurance recovery (cat c whatever)??

newage or blob... thats a hawkeye Ian (I think)

I want the whole car.... rather than paying 2500+ for the gearbox.

i can then re-sell the car once i'm done with it.

the above is a hawkeye, JDM STI's are a little rarer to find though as you probably know, out of interest if its just for the gearbox whats wrong with the UK 6 speed?

That's the only one with a 6 speed box, all the older ones had 5 speed, guessing they are all UK?

all sti's had 6 speed box for newage, only WRX had 5 speed

Dont want a UK box due to the ratios...

Aim is the JDM STi box with DCCD

to be more exact.... these models

JDM Impreza WRX STi RA MY01
JDM Impreza WRX STi RA Spec C MY02
JDM Impreza WRX STi MY03
JDM Impreza WRX STi Spec C MY03
JDM Impreza WRX STi MY04 + V-Limited MY04
JDM Impreza WRX STi Spec C MY04
JDM Impreza WRX STi MY05
JDM Impreza WRX STi Spec C MY05

these all have the following ratios

1st 3.636
2nd 2.375
3rd 1.761
4th 1.346
5th 1.062
6th 0.842


UK 6 speed of that age has 3.636 2.375 1.761 1.346 0.971 0.756 = bigger gap in gearing between 4th and 5th.

I currently have a very short 1-4 and long 5th.... and its a pain in the ass above 108mph


It will also most likey die very soon

you can still get a Uk 6 speed with DCCD and R180 dif but will be 114 pcd though

JDM STI 6 speed boxes donw come about that much lol, tons of Uk 6 speed ones for sale on scoobynet though

ta, i've seen / been offered a few suitable boxes but i'm a bit tight to just shell out 2.5k for the bits.


Maybe its a bit warped but I'd rather buy a bit of a tatty car and rape it for the parts then possibly refit my GB to it to sell on or just split it.

As Barnshaw said, all newages from Bugeye onwards had a 6 speed. But with a 2.0 it'll be a Bugeye or Blobeye that's needed.

decent price but its just the gearbox...

i need the box, shafts, prop, cradle, read LSD and possibly hubs.

That ones for 2500 or so are all inc
