Well this year a group of us are going to Wakestock in Wales again and need some fancy dress ideas. There will be about 30 of us both male and female of all shapes and sizes so things like morph suits are out. Also complicated/intricate/heavy costumes are out due to the fact we're going to a festival, will be drinking and it will be hot.
I think we're hoping to all go as something similar or same sort of category but want something different from the usual. The only ideas i've managed to find/come up with so far aren't exactly different and they are:
hippies
old women/men
Thunderbirds
Army
Mexican wrestlers
Smurfs
Last year I went as a hospital patient complete with open-backed gown It got a lot of attention but i'll struggle to get hold of 30 hospital gowns!
We could do a few small groups so a few Thunderbirds, a few wrestlers and a few soldiers or something but we'd prefer all to be similar!
Ideas?

Cheers for the ideas! The popstars one is great! So is the video game characters! The Justice League one will work well if we have to do more than one theme so I'll keep that in mind.

The problem with the last 2 is they've been done to death. I'll keep them in mind though and add them to the list and see what my mates think.

Loving the Lego Batman!
Quite like the jockey idea as well as we can all have different colours/numbers.

I think the lego idea is brilliant, i might actually nick it!
Don't go for something too obvious as you'll get there and another bunch of muppets will turn up looking the same. Or at least try to do something where you need to construct the outfits or have props. For example some friends of mine went to Creamfields and did the army thing, but one of them built a prop and wore it...
