white sprits or auto glym tar and glue remover, or even nail varnish remover if you have any

Its how we remove stickers when we get glass delivered on site, not quite parcel tape but still.

any solvent based cleaner will do it; thinners, meths, brake cleaner, sat juice, petrol etc.

Tar and glue remover. Done a few hundred broken renault window regs held up by duct and parcel tape.

Thinners, solvent based cleaner, turps

You'll be hard pushed to taint the glass with any sort of cleaner so just get a hold of the stronger stuff and it'll come off on a cloth

blade window scraper, or even just a stanley blade, be careful not to dig in too deep
