Only person in the office, no jobs on this afternoon which is nice after this morning (rebuild an Exchange server)
Tonight I'm going round my mates house for a bit of a mix I think

Nah it's not too bad, just a bit of a pain in the arse TBH. It was a clustered jobby too - hours of fun...
You haven't had a mix since you left school? Couldn't be doing that I lurve my vinyl, gotta have a go on the decks everyday if possible

I was never that good!! Used to either fcuk skool off and go round mates for smoke and mix or on the astroturf for footie!! I haven't got any decks fact last time i messed about was week b4 new years at a mates place when they moved in!!

Is there a 'Richie Sounds' near you I was well tempted at 1 point but didn't cos didn't have the space it's something im sure I'll get when I have my own place tho!! Gotta be done!!

Yeah thats the place I was gonna get all my stuff from I got mint spkers jus needed the rest and they had some good prices! Everyone goes on about Techniqes etc... they ain't always the best for the money altho they are good!

When I bought my Technics I got a Vestax PMC 170 but it died on me - two out of three channels went the way of the pear so I had to get a new one.
Love this mixer - cool colour with chrome knobs - looks wicked. Only quibbles I have is unlike say my old Citronic mixer or the Gemini's it has no X-fader curve - slide it across and two things happen a) the sound decreased before it gets halfway and b) the bass, treble etc stays the same instead of fading the bass out first.
Annoying thing it the volume goes up as you fade the new tune in so you have to use the x-fader, the faders and the eq all at the same time to do a good clean mix - I hate it!
I was tempted to save for a 275 as this has better features but the pcv x-faders I think although solid as a rock are pretty rubbish for what I look for. The mixer is so much better looking than a Gemini though - everyone who see's it loves it!

If you got a bit of cash floating about I can highly recommend the Numark PRO SM-2. Mine is smooth as fook and the 100% optical x-fader has literally no resistance -- fastest chops ever...
