I got 2 falken tyres off Camskill, 225/40/18, can't remember the number of them, I'll have a look, good tread pattern and were less than £140 posted I think. Seem grippy enough not that I drive the car overly hard.

That's what id usually buy as i have 4 of those falkens on my corsa and pretty decent tyres but its gonna cost £300 for 4 of those and the other choice of tyre iv been looking at is the Kumho KU37 which are going to be £42 cheaper but dont have any experiences with Kumhos yet.
There are cheaper tyres available so thats why i was wondering if any of the cheaper tyres are any good.

Budgets FTW i hate budget tyres, but for the snow they are ace.
1.8 SRi C with Eagle F1s, wouldnt get up my hill
Clio 182 with Michelin PE2's wouldn't get up my hill
106 GTi @ 140bhp with Toyo Proxies wouldn't get up my hill
106 GTi @ 170bhp with budget Admirals and it drove up as of there was no snow what so ever

I have found some budgets to be better, I had a set of yokohama's and a set of toyo proxes on my last car and there just seemed to be no grip whatso ever, Felt like the car was sliding around when i was cornering. Then when it came to needing a new set of tyres i just went for the cheapest the tyre place had in stock and they seemed to grip better than the bigger makes.
I'm not one for pushing a car hard whilst driving on the roads, This was just normal everyday driving, none of this boy racer foot to the floor trackday driving.
At the minute i have a set of budget tyres in the size you are after, only been on a couple of days and seem to have enough grip in them, will wait and see what they are like after they have been bedded in a bit more.

nothing wrong with budgets as long as you avoid utter garbage. IF your driving on a regular basis isn't that of a track enthusiast, and its just work and back and shops and back then its not a problem. falken are more mid range stuff.
i have enduros 225/40/18 on my vectra. they were under 40 quid each and they were ideal. grip wasn't that bad tbh.

Admiral, Enduro, Nexen have all been good for me. Find the cheapos better than the top brands and i drive my cars hard.

if you get offered something like a sunew or a yellow sea (same tyre) avoid it. we get loads in for complaints of the sidewall splitting. so cheaply made.
gt's aren't bad for the money tbh

Yeah Nic thats what there pretty much for.i dont do track day's and racing ect.
As long as they have decent grip in wet & dry conditions and they dont give terrible road noise.

they're actually a lot better in the last few years. changed the pattern slightly maybe 3 years ago. personally not used them but i know a few who do.
my controversial advice for the internet, which is my own opinions, is avoid nankangs. I've had them, and they were bloody shocking. i know people rate them, so thats why i said its my own opinions

Enduros are brilliant, £52 each on my corsa. Tread pattern looks smart as well.
Just my opinion
Wanli tyres lasted me 1000 miles last time i had them fitted.

yeah we've got them as well. decent van tyres tbh. worst tyre I've seen to be balanced was a kings tyre. shocking. place sent them back as they just wouldn't balance. different set of tyres balanced up right away.
good ride and westlake are same tyre. like wanli/sunny/ironman (no joke, fuckin iron man lol)

I'm quite surprised at the price of the evergreens on cam skill. i wouldn't have thought they were a £90+ tyre at all. not when they're a linglong.
