i recently changed the MAS which has stopped the appalling performance, but now the light still comes on (mainly when on motorway) but doesnt affect the car etc. . . could this be because i need the errors clearing or something?
the light seems to go off when i put my foot down, where as before it went off if i let off and slowed down :s im confused

Flash the codes with a paper clip. Google topp buzz paperclip test if you're unsure.
To clear the codes, just disconnect your battery for an hour.

They always did on my old redtop, i assume the baby xe engine is the same?
If not, the codes should self clear after so many starts of the engine (read that somewhere.....)

if its cured the eml shouldnt come back on even without resetting the ecu, if its coming back on it might indicate another problem

but the car doesnt show signs of something being wrong like it did before :S and tbh the whole error system said it was lambda sensor when in actual fact it was MAS so its not that clever lol

you say the eml comes on and goes off depending if your accelerating or decelerating...?
couldn't that be EGR issues?
what engine is it again?

reset the ecu, then when the eml comes on it will only have that code in memory, my aunties eml comes on all the time but it still runs ok, could be something daft lol

you bridge pins 5 and 6 or A and B depending on which connection you have.
the eml flashes a number of times to represent a fault code. you write the code down and check online to confirm the fault.
very easy to do.
