What a nightmare, its taken me about 4 weeks of working weekends and the odd night to get it finished. Its the first cage Ive fitted on my own so that probably hasn't helped but apparently these Safety Devices cages are a doddle compared to some! Anyway, its nearly ready for its first outing now, Ill get some pics of the outside as I finish it (putting some graphics on it now ysee! 
Also, you might notice the roof in a couple of the pics.....I covered it in thin acoustic carpet just incase my helmet catches it now and again as Im pretty tall and my head does come quite close to the roof.

Yeah, Ive got another little un on the way and am building an extension so the M5 had to go  So I bought a nice boring cheap, reliable Saab estate and the 106 Rallye to get my speed fix. Good really as I do enjoy tinkering with cars, something I couldn't really do with the RS6/M5.

Buckets are ok, padding actually under your arse is pretty minimal but under your legs and everywhere else seems ok. They were cheap, light, pretty slim and FIA approved which is why I bought them, came from Poland and only cost £400 delivered for the pair! Was a bit wary buying from Poland but rallyshop.pl is great and so is his ebay shop! Arrived in 2 days!!

Problem I have is with the snap off that was on the steering wheel is too close to me, may have to leave the snap off thing off. Shame really as its gonna be a right arse getting in and out with a steering wheel in place!

Those seats look nice, comfy enough for daily use?

Not got round to putting them back in yet. Im literally putting just the clocks back in so need to work a way how to fit them yet........anyone any ideas? Oh and an oil temp and pressure gauge
I couldnt live with the seats on a daily basis, no chance! Maybe ten years ago I could?

The seats are a cunt to live with daily, they are ok for about 40mins, after then you arse just goes dead.

Yeah, actually makes it comfy! Don't use it when on track though as it adds about 1" to your position.

Some new pics, fitted my clocks (Gauges arent held in yet, still trying to find a location for them) put nut covers on the cage where it may come into contact with human, steering wheel on, fitted my home-made door cards and door pulls and put some faux carbon sheet on the cage where you have to slide in

Yeah I thnk I will do! Not sure what it will weigh? It is stripped but I have added a bit of additional weight with doorcards, cage etc Theyw eigh 810 standard I think so would hope for about 750ish, does that seem feasible?
To be honest where they are now is perfectly flat (On top of the stalk gubbins) but that double pod I have is a little big and masks my view of the dials so I have ordered a pair of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370589159930?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_831wt_1270 which should just stick onto that and be a bit more of a lower profile!
Graphics kit going on this weekend http://www.replicarallygraphix.co.uk/product.php?id_product=395 reckon that will be a right ballache to fit!
